I have taken the car to five mechanics. None can find any problem with the engine. The following work has been done: Radiator was flushed out; Cracked radiator hose replaced; Thermostat removed as suggested by two mechanics. New spark plug cables installed; Engine has been tuned. The last mechanic said it was common for the thermometer gauge to go past "H" ... It is running super rich,and I finally figured out that the wires/connector to the temp sensor in the head for the water jacket are frayed,but now it has washed the cylinders and ruined the rings. Compression is @100 across the board. 72 had crappy primer too,and the rust blossoms are started. Fixed the leads,and took it for a spin today 3700 lbs of noisy fun. Strange,kind of peppy,even mortally wounded. So yea we made ...
